Lapis
Lapis is a unique and whimsical mineral sparkling in a beautiful blue hue, resembling the Ronin Logo. It is mined from Lapis Ore, a rare deposit found deep in the mines of Cyberia. The ore only appears during the time Jin visits Cyberia, and the Lapis crystals themselves magically manifest everywhere – on the streets, attached to fishes, in gardening plots, and even scattered on the roads during races.
Lapis can be obtained by: The activities Mining, Gardening, Exploring, Fishing, all over the streets of Cyberia, and in all mini games.
Physical and Chemical Properties
Lapis is a durable but slightly brittle mineral composed mainly of lazurite, calcite, and pyrite. Its striking blue color comes from the presence of sulfur within the lazurite structure.
- Melting Point: Lapis decomposes rather than melting under high heat.
- Density: With a density of 2.7–2.9 g/cm³, it is relatively heavy.
- Hardness: Lapis has a Mohs hardness of 5–5.5, making it moderately hard but susceptible to scratching.
Geological Occurrence
Lapis Ore is a rare find, typically located in small pockets of granite in the Cyberian mines. Despite its scarcity, the effort to uncover Lapis is well rewarded, as the crystal is highly prized for its unique aesthetic appeal, especially from Jin, the mascot of Ronin . Each mined ore yields 10 Lapis.
Applications
Lapis has been used for thousands of years in various artistic and practical applications. From jewelry to historical pigments, its value continues to endure.
- Jewelry: Lapis is widely used in necklaces, rings, and carvings.
- Pigments: Historically ground into ultramarine, one of the most expensive natural blue pigments.
