Ads on cyberversewiki.com

Hey Citizens!
You may have already noticed, but I’ve started adding a few ad banners to the website. I'm currently experimenting with their placement to ensure they stay as non-intrusive as possible. I definitely don’t want to clutter the site or make it feel annoying - after all, no one likes a website that’s drowned in ads.
For now, there’s a small banner next to the logo in the header, and a larger one placed after each blog post. That’s it. I’ll continue testing different placements over time, just to see what works best and remains user-friendly.
So, why ads at all?
Some of you might not know, but this entire website has been built and maintained by just me. I also pay for the hosting and the domain myself. Most of the APIs and tools I use (like those for getting blockchain data) are currently on free tiers, which helps. But I’ve invested a lot of time into building this platform - mainly because I enjoy it! Honestly, coding with AI has been a really fun and educational experience for me. This project has been my way of contributing to the amazing Cyberverse community.
But here’s the thing: the hosting provider I use will start increasing prices after the first year. (Can you believe the wiki is almost one year old already?!) As I continue to grow the site into a proper Cyberverse community hub - and as the project itself keeps expanding - I might need to start using paid services down the line. Still, I want to keep all features completely free for everyone.
That’s why I’m exploring ways to help cover the costs, and ads are one potential solution.
A quick note about privacy and control:
I’ve made sure the ads are included in the cookie settings - so if you’d rather not see them, you can disable them at any time. I’ve also added an ad blocker detection feature. If you're using one, you might see a small popup asking you to consider disabling it.
By allowing ads, you're directly supporting this project and keep it free for everyone. No pressure at all - but if you choose to enable them, it’s truly appreciated and helps cover hosting and development costs, and I promise to keep the ads as subtle as possible!
Thanks again for being part of this journey!
